The idea of Hollywood alarms messages of excitement, fame and actors exploding onto the scene of the glamorous stage set sounds brilliant. Imagine the actors on the red carpet and the excitement already starts to build. It is so hard to separate the glamour from the reality. The many scenes and types of movies are so interesting: action, adventure, horror; love/romance and political type are all available but within limits. To those who have thousands of DVDs it is not that difficult to be able to watch these every day and many times over and over again. A simple change of the DVD in the video recorder would make it possible to do this. However, those that don’t have this equipment may find its not possible.
Now, there is a simple solution to this problem with the unlimited downloads of all types of movies. This is a fantastic solution to an otherwise complex problem due to the cost and the time of the downloads. The amount of space these movies would take up on the computer would make it quite expensive and time consuming to make any movie accessible. There are limits on our time and money to obtain these things.
Secondly, in relation to movies, there normally are extra costs to download more movies each week or month and these would all add up over time. This would normally result in extra membership fees and extra costs for each movie. Imagine watching a western movie, after an action one and in the comfort of your own home with no extra fees.
“To be, or not to be.” I’m pretty positive that Shakespeare wasn’t talking about being an online entrepreneur, but what about you? To be honest, I was “too busy” being a offline business guy to even think about an online career, until I started to really dig deep into the depth and power of the internet.
What would you say to having access to so much money and so many opportunities that you couldn’t possibly handle it all yourself. What if you could do business 24/7 with people all over the world and you could do that while sitting at an office right there in your very own home? What about on a beach overlooking the Pacific or a mountain top in the Rockies?
On the internet, you can do business naked if that’s what you wanted to do! I highly suggest staying away from video marketing if “naked” is your preference.
Being an online entrepreneur is unlike any opportunity you’ll find in the offline world.
Don’t be scared. Take a deep breath…relax and let’s take a look at the world of an online entrepreneur.
The Online Entrepreneur: Unlimited Access
I own a couple offline businesses. One is a retail store that is open “normal” business hours and the other is a service business that has two of the Las Vegas strip’s most famous hotels as clients. Both are bound by specific operating hours, in which work “must” be performed in order to make money.
Our service business requires we start at 03:00 and we operate the retail store during “normal” business hours.
At the store we stay late to straighten up the shelves and fold clothing. The service business requires extra time to pick up supplies or do equipment maintenance.
So you’ve just finished the rough outline for your eBook. You’ve thought of a very innovative and worthwhile product to offer consumers in your niche. However, in the back of your mind you are trying to answer this question:
How can I make my eBook more valuable to the customer?
What can I do, that will set me apart from how everyone else is marketing their eBooks on the web?
The first steps you need into take into consideration for adding value to your eBook are:
The Topic
Make sure that you are somewhat knowledgeable or have an affinity for the topic of your eBook. This is a key element in making your product valuable and informative for the consumer. You also want to take into account what your target market wants and needs to know while you build your topic. By doing this you can be sure that you are identifying the needs of your target niche.
The Length
There is really no hard and fast rule when it comes to determining the length of your eBook. Some eBooks can be valuable and useful by having less than 20 pages. Don’t over analyze any kind of preset word limit. Now on the other hand, make sure you are consistently providing useful and valuable information to your consumer. Do not use fluff or filler just to make your content achieve a certain length. Present your information in a clear, organized and concise manner.
Many people falsely assume that the sheer number of pages in an eBook is what creates its value. This is incorrect; it is the quality of the information that is provided to the customer that makes an eBook successful and profitable.
The Title
People are fascinated by glow sticks and other glow products. Let’s face it, it’s not very often that we can make something light up without the use of electricity. It puzzles us. It fascinates us. I generally gets our attention, and at night… we really wake up to the beauty of what these little novel items possess.
Over the course of time people have asked what seems like hundreds of questions about glow sticks from what is that to how does that work, and everything in between. I will try to address these questions in this short article to give you a better idea of what glow products are all about.
What is a glow stick? Probably the most asked question. The sticks are single use. This means you can only use it once. They are a clear plastic tube with another smaller tube, usually glass, inside of it. Both tubes are filled with chemicals that react when combined to produce light.
What makes them work? Well, I sorta just answered that above. The generated light is called chemiluminescence. A big word for combining two chemical to produce a glow. We call the chemical inside the glass tube the activator. Inside the plastic tube are what we call the components. It is a fluorescent dye which determines the color.
Glow sticks seem new, how long have they been around? This I have to say I’m not entirely positive about, but in 1976 there was a patent for a chemiluminescent signal device. There have been improvements over the years but this is the oldest reference I can find about the product as we know it today.
When you look at the field of Art and Industrial Design, and specifically the area where plastic is predominantly the materiel of choice, one of the things that stands out is how the artists and designers are limited by the boundaries imposed by moulds.
Unlike other fields in the domain of crafts where one can just pick-up a pencil and draw, use a brush and paint or take a piece of granite and sculpt, working with plastic is generally a two step process where you first need to create what you want in a three dimensional mould and then use the plastic materiel of your choice in order to bring it to reality.
Although on the surface of it all this may not sound like a big deal, working with plastic, from a pure artistic perspective, does not really allow a designer to conserve the uniqueness character that they may require. To put this into context, lets take two simple examples:
- If you take a sculpture and ask him to create the same apple our of clay five times, he may produce five items that may look the same on the surface but it is a virtual certainty that on closer inspection you will find them all to be individually unique.
- If you take a designer and ask him to create the same apple our of plastic five times, he will create a mould and then use on of the common injections molding methods in to order to produce the requested five items. The difference here is that each item, barring any production issues, will result in the production of five identical items.
